Kayaking + paddle boarding are great ways to explore the Charleston area. Tomorrow is the first day of summer, so we thought it’d only make sense to dive in to a few local spots to get your paddle on in the Holy City.
First, we should talk about paddling safety, so you don’t capsize. DYK Charleston County Parks offers classes on need-to-knows for your outdoor excursion? Register for the next class. |

Remember when we gave you the inside scoop on three community gardens operated by the Charleston Parks Conservancy? You may not know that some of the garden produce is donated — including 42 pounds of veggies last week.

Editor's pick: Last week, I had the opportunity to attend the soft opening ceremony for the newest brewery in town: Bevi Bene Brewing Co. If you haven’t gotten a chance to peep the space on Instagram, we can assure you: The building truly is a work of art.
While the brewery officially opened over the weekend, it will be celebrating its grand opening this Saturday, June 25 from 12-5 p.m. Head to The Lumberyard at 1859 Summerville Ave. to get your hands on the latest lager + hard kombucha. I’d recommend the Key Largo Kombucha + Blueberry Coffee Sour, and my boyfriend loved the West Coast Lager. 10/10 experience all around.
