Grab a magnifying glass — you’re officially invited to CHStoday’s first “wordsearch.” Time to show off your whip-smart sleuthing skills to find terms familiar to the Holy City. |
This game is open to all, and the rules are simple: Turn today’s newsletter into a wordsearch. That’s right. Within this newsletter only, locate 10 Charleston buzzwords. Any section of today’s newsletter is fair game, including this one (not including the list of words to look for below).
The rules - Locate the following words in the newsletter: historic, surf, garden, fish, brunch, cocktail, patio, oysters, sea, and
pineapple.
- Tell us where you found each of them in one email here by 11:59 p.m. on May 26 along with your name (first name, last initial).
The fun stuff -
The sixth person to submit all 10 word locations correctly will get a shoutout in our newsletter + a $10 gift card to The 6AM Shop via email. (The 6AM Shop is run by the same behind-the-scenes crew who delivers your daily newsletters — shop Charleston swag.)
- Have a word puzzle idea you think we should do next time? Let us know.
Stay tuned for the answer key in an upcoming newsletter. Happy searching. 🔍

Yesterday morning, the Sea Turtle Care Center at the SC Aquarium held a public turtle release at Folly Beach County Park for the first time in almost three years. The team helped local shellebrities Gale, Olaf, Elsa, Sunstone, Citrine, and Moonstone seas the day and head out to the big blue.
The care center focuses on rescue, rehabilitation, and release. Public releases are usually announced on the aquarium website + social media, so keep an eye out for the next one. Heads up: These are often announced only hours beforehand for the safety of the animals, residents, and staff.
