Charles Towne Landing State Historic Site — located at 1500 Old Towne Rd. — was recently featured on TripSavvy’s list of Best State Parks in South Carolina, ranking number 10 out of 13.
So, what’s the buzz all about? Charles Towne Landing is the site of the first permanent European settlement in the state, dating back to 1670. The site, featuring 664 acres of scenery, is one of few original settlement sites still in existence today. How much time should I spend there? Though there is no set time limit for the park, we suggest carving out three to four hours to take in all that the area has to offer. The park grounds are open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
What’s the cost? Admission is $12 for adults, $7.50 for SC seniors, $7 for youth ages 6-15, and free for children 5 and under.

Have you heard the news? “The Righteous Gemstones” comedy series — filmed right here in the Holy City — has returned to HBO for Season 2.
To celebrate, Lowcountry artist @panzone_art has brought us another incredible mural of The Righteous Gemstones in West Ashley’s Avondale neighborhood. Look familiar? The artist also painted this mural showcasing the comedy a few years back. #DYK that your photos and quotes could be featured in our newsletter? Just use #CHStoday on social media. REWARDS
